Evolent Authorization Training Sessions
PA Health & Wellness has partnered with Evolent to implement new prior authorization programs. Effective September 1, 2025, select Interventional Pain Management (IPM) procedures, medical oncology and radiation oncology services will require prior authorization through Evolent prior to being rendered in an outpatient setting. Providers are encouraged to attend any of the training sessions beginning in August to learn more about these programs and the resources available. Additional information can be found here.

PA Health and Wellness (PHW) would like to invite you to attend a pre-recorded training. This is an annual training requirement for all Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Providers contracted with PHW's Community HealthChoices (CHC) Plan. If you are receiving this email, your organization is required to complete this training. *At least one person from each organization (Tax ID#) must complete this training annually and submit completed attestation.* Once registered, you will be sent an email with the link to view the training at any time. This training is approximately 30 minutes long.

Introductory Group Sessions - Cardiology
Practices interested in joining one or more of the introductory and/or in-service training sessions below can reach out to: providertraining@evolent.com.
Cardiology In-Service Group Training Sessions
- Facilitate training for provider group prior authorization team members which includes an in-depth demonstration of Evolent’s provider portal (CarePro) for submission of prior authorization requests as well as exposure to different authorization scenarios.
- The training will showcase the following: an overview of clinical questions prompted by CarePro; Evolent’s Preferred Pathways; how to increase your opportunity for an instant auto-approval; how to locate and print a prior authorization request; tracking an authorization through the review process; upload supporting clinical documentation directly to the request; withdrawing a request and discontinuing and resubmitting updated treatment requests.
- A facilitated walk-through of the matrix outlining the scope of services Evolent is managing and reviewing the prior authorization process via Evolent’s provider portal (CarePro) and telephonic intake.
- A thorough overview of provider resources to assist in navigating the Evolent prior authorization process.
- Identification of any workflow issues and concerns from providers related to the program’s overall process.
